Dan Vidlak went undefeated wrestling his last two years at Hidden Valley High School, winning two state titles and two Junior National crowns before attending the University of Oregon. There he was coached by Ron Finley and was a three time Pac-10 champion and two time All-American for the Ducks wrestling at 118 lbs. After completing his collegiate career, Dan competed internationally and won a gold medal at the Pan-American Games and silver at the always tough Ivan Yeargen wrestling tournament in Russia while competing at 48 kg.
After graduating in 1992 with a degree in Biology, Dan Vidlak went to Pacific University college of Optometry and graduated with distinction in 1997. While going to school at Pacific, he coached with Mike Clock. He now has a practice with the Eyecare Group of Grants Pass and Cave Junction.
Dan enjoys spending time with his wife, Stephanie, and his boys Ryan and Gabe. When not with his family, he also enjoys fly fishing and being involved in the local church. Dan is a believer in the saving grace of Jesus Christ and strives to live a life of gratitude and service in lieu of what has been given to him through Christ. In recognition of the things he has accomplished on and off the mat, Dan was inducted into the Mark Brandt Wall of Fame in Grants Pass in 2006.
Dan Vidlak has coached various wrestling camps in and around Oregon for the last 15 years.

Current College wrestlers will be helping as camp counselors and are extremely popular with young wrestlers as they provide great role models to the youth wrestlers. College wrestlers will also help teach technique in Freestyle, Greco, and College wrestling and will wrestle ‘live’ with High School athletes. Wrestling live against college wrestlers is a great learning experience for high school wrestlers and Dan Vidlak and Matt Gentry encourage high school athletes to ask camp counselors for a workout.
